NPL Mens 1’s vs Barnes Accidentals

Missing a couple of our more mobile players today (Karem and Marc we missed you!)

It was a young team from Barnes with 4-5 development players who all displayed a good degree of skill and, unfortunately for us, pace. We set up a defensive formation pretty quickly with a 4,5,1 formation which made our attacking options a little limited but, we went in at half-time 1-0 down and in the game with John Scandrett occupying the forward position and making a really good nuisance of himself to their backs with his speed!

3rd quarter of the game was a similar story, but the last quarter saw another 2 goals scored against tired (much older) legs which Ollie our other young speedster in the midfield could not deal with on his own with 2 well-taken goals from quick counter attacks.

On another day this game could and should have been closer, so we look forward to some younger pace returning to our side for the away game and we will work on reversing the result! Certainly feel like it was an enjoyable game played in the best spirit, and we will be reviewing the tape of our first use of the VEO 2 cam to take some learnings and work-ons into training! Well done to all who played!
