Club Safe Guarding Documents

As an affiliated member of England Hockey, NPL Hockey Club is required to adopt its safeguarding policy and associated guidance. This includes having at least one named welfare officer.  The club have appointed two welfare officers, one for the men's section (Paul Bussetti), and one for the ladies (Janine ).

One of the main facets of the safeguarding policy is that if a person has a concern, there must be a way to report it. As such, the welfare officers can be your first point of contact (other members of the committee can also be approached if required.)

The primary goal of the safeguarding policy is to "promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm." The law is very clear in that it is the legal responsibility of every adult to report any concerns that they may have about the wellbeing of a young person (anybody under the age of 18).

In addition, as a club we take our responsibility seriously in terms of ensuring that our club is a safe place to enjoy playing hockey.  As such, the same people are available to be contacted if any members have concerns about items such as bullying, abusive or antisocial behaviour or breaches of either the club's or England Hockey's code of conduct.

We will also be keeping a list of all in game injuries, which should be reported to the relevant welfare officer via the team captain.
