Ladies vs Epsom W6

Week 2 of the season and a gorgeous array of orange greeted us when we strolled onto the pitches.  NPL ladies are back baby!

Great team talks and diagrams from Jen, we each knew our jobs, and came out strong. The subs diligently put on tops on the side line, but promptly had to ask the umpire to allow us take them off as hot flushes hit.

Meanwhile back on the pitch a series of beautiful passes round the back, pirrouettes through the middle found Jen who smashed home a sweet goal 6 minutes in.  Wonderful tenacity from defence and Moosie in goal denied all chances for Epsom, and we continued to pile on the pressure securing additional shorts.

Sweeties and a reminder from the Captain to play into space at half time. We reset... and we were mostly listening. Lovely connections and again using the play around the back. Lucy secured a series of shorts, ultimately producing a second goal for Jen, off Madlyne receiving.   More pressure and the oppo defence got quite rattled... P flick time, shout out for Sue who popped it into the left corner. 3 - 0.  Smashing.

A late rally from the oppo, Moosie again with a series of cracking saves but they finally got away with 1 to pull back to a final result 3 - 1.

Magnificent team play again.

Woman of match to Jen.

Gold stars to Moosie, Emma, Sue & Lucy

Tea rating 8/10.
